Shoreham Schools to Install Posts at 25A Entry to Prevent Parking

Project will cost around $4,000 but helps insurance liability.

The Shoreham-Wading River School Board recently approved a resolution to install posts and rails about 12 to 15 inches off the curb at the district's 25A entrance to prevent parking, according to a report in the Village Beacon Record.

Parking becomes a problem along the entryways at Shoreham-Wading River High School, the administration building and North Shore Public Library Traffic usually during sporting events a cars pull park on the curb near the fields, according to the report.

Why not just ticket the automobile owners? This seems like an awful lot of taxpayer money to just build some kind of barriers to keep cars away. It seems unnecessary and a waste of money that could be used elsewhere.
