Shoreham-Wading River School Board Adopts Budget at Cap

Adopted budget will not exceed the tax levy cap for the district.

The Shoreham-Wading River School Board adopted a $66.1 million budget Tuesday which includes a tax levy increase of 2.29 percent, which is the maximum allowed under the cap for the district.

The budget is an increase of 5.5 percent over the current year's budget and does not include any cuts.

According to a report in the Village Beacon Record, the vote will also include two BOE seats. Trustee Richard Pluschau is seeking re-election while the other spot was vacated when Marie Lindell resigned in October.

There will also be a capital proposition on the ballot of $4,985,000 for repairs and reconstruction projects.
