The Harvest Day Parade Marches Into Rocky Point

Rocky Point Elementary Students Transform Into Storybook Characters

A passing shower could not dampen the enthusiasm the students at Frank J. Carasiti Elementary School displayed during this year’s annual Harvest Day Parade, also known as the Parade of Literature.

During this traditional event, students dressed as their favorite storybook characters and marched around the high school track as proud family members and friends cheered them on. Included in this year’s favorites were the famous witch from “Room on the Broom,” Little Red Riding Hood, a variety of superheroes and Dr. Seuss’s famous Cat in the Hat.

Rocky Point High School’s band added some musical elements to the program, performing their halftime routine and the opening “Star-Spangled Banner.”
