Name: Antonio Sisto, age 17
School: Senior at Miller Place High School
Accomplishments: Active in his high school's arts programs for four years, Antonio can be found playing the cello in the Orchestra, the guitar in the Jazz Band and singing with the Vocal Jazz Ensemble and the Select Chorus. He also plays the piano, ukulele and drums. He hit the stage this past March with the Drama Club, playing the character of Dave in this year's theater production of Almost Maine.
Antonio challenged himself with Advanced Placement (A.P.) classes and was on the wrestling team for his first three years of high school.
The senior's love of reading is extensive, including the psychology writings of Carl Jung, the classical literature of Dante's Divine Comedy, poetry and new age books. His favorite author is John Updike. Antonio's creative side also includes writing songs, stories, poems and drawing.
After graduation in June, Antonio is considering studying psychology at Suffolk Community College and then transferring to SUNY New Paltz. He plans to pursue his musicianship as well as work on book projects that he has begun. He considers happiness the greatest success of all. In the meantime, you can hear him playing the guitar and singing on the streets of Port Jefferson with cellist Max Hanks.
