Whiz Kid: Miller Place Senior Christian Korade

Christian plans to pursue a major in mechanical engineering.

 Senior at Miller Place High School

Accomplishments: Christian has been on the Honor Roll at Miller Place High School, while taking Advanced Placement (A.P.) classes.  He plays the alto saxophone and the tenor saxophone as a member of both the Symphonic and Jazz Bands.  He has performed at the Miller Place Friends of the Arts ice cream social fund raising events.

A multi-sport athlete, Christian was a defender on the JV soccer team, as well as team captain.  He was a 400 meter runner, as well as a triple jumper for the varsity spring track team and played doubles on the varsity badminton team.  Miller Place High School's badminton team earned recognition in the Guinness Book of World records for having the longest winning streak in team sports history (1973 to 2005). The Panthers did not lose a single match over a 32-year span that encompassed 504 consecutive victories.

Christian has been on the Robotics Team and handles the lighting for the Drama Club productions.  When not enjoying our local waters to swim, boat, fish and wake board, he can be found working at Handy Pantry in Sound Beach.  He plans to attend Suffolk Community College's Honors program and later transfer to pursue a major in mechanical engineering.
