Whiz Kid: Nicholas Gabriele Achieves Academic Excellence

Name: Nicholas Gabriele - 16

School: - 11th Grade

Whiz Kid's Accomplishment: Gabriele has been on the high honor roll every quarter in high school thus far. He received the award for Academic Excellence for both ninth and 10th grades and he takes honors and AP classes.

Along with his academic accomplishments, he studies guitar and has been in the Jazz Band since the seventh-grade. He was also in the High School Chorus and he will be in the Select Chorus his junior year. He has been on the JV Football team the Spring Track team, throwing the shot put and discus, the past two years.

Keys to Awesomeness: Gabriele is a member of the high school service club, which participates in community service projects for the community, as well as neighboring communities. He also holds the rank of Life Scout and is working toward earning the honor of Eagle Scout. He was a Den Chief, working with the younger boys in Cub Scouts.

As a Boy Scout, Nicholas has participated in numerous volunteer activities including yearly cleanups at the Miller Place Pond and at Cedar Beach and Thanksgiving food drives and annual flag placement and flag removal at Calverton National Cemetery for Memorial Day.

Gabriele has been employed doing computer and clerical work at his father's law office and is interested in pursuing a career in law or naval architecture.
