S-WR Boys Lax, Baseball Win Counties, Eye Long Island Titles
Shoreham-Wading River boys lax earned the Suffolk County Class C Championship with a win Wednesday and will now head to Hofstra University to play for a Long Island title.
The Shoreham-Wading River boys lacrosse team downed Bayport-Blue Point 14-4 to earn the Suffolk County Class C Championship Wednesday.
The Wildcats were led by senior Trevor Brosco, who scored a whopping seven goals in the easy win. Tim Rotanz added two goals and three assists in the game.
The team now sets its sights on the Long Island Class C Championship as the 15-3 Wildcats will face Cold Spring Harbor Saturday at 1 p.m. at Hofstra University for the title.

The Wildcats were a thorn in Bayport-Blue Point's side Wednesday as they took yet another county title away from the Phantoms, this time on the baseball field. S-WR beat Bayport-Blue Point 3-2 with a walkoff hit by Drew Sperruzzi in the bottom of the eighth inning to earn the Suffolk County Class A Championship.
It is the seventh county title in team history. They will play Plainedge/Island Trees in the Long Island Championship June 5 at Dowling College.
