Miller Place Football Set To Kick Off Season

Panthers open 2013 campaign at home against Islip tomorrow.

The Miller Place varsity football squad will kick off its 2013 season at home against Islip tomorrow at 4 p.m.

The Panthers are coming off a solid season where they went 7-1, grabbing the No. 2 seed in the division. They trounced Bellport in the opening round of the playoffs 44-7 before dropping the semifinal game to Westhampton 19-14.

Just one game shy of the Suffolk County Championship game, Miller Place will be highly motivated to get back to that spot and it all starts tomorrow. Last year, the Panthers handled Islip with a decisive 34-0 victory on September 29. Islip finished the season at 2-6 on the year.
