Panthers Baseball Falls Short of County Title

Miller Place loses in county championship to Bayport-Blue Point

After an incredible run through the playoffs, the Miller Place baseball team came up just short of the Suffolk Class A title in a 5-2 loss to undefeated Bayport-Blue Point Thursday.

The No. 4 seeded Panthers lost to the top-seeded Phantoms in the second round but lined up a rematch in the championship after defeating No. 2 Eastport-South Manor, No. 7 Elwood-John Glenn and No. 3 Sayville in the loser's bracket. They finish their impressive season with a 17-9 record.
