The New York State Public High School Athletic Association has presented the award of Scholar-Athlete Team to four Rocky Point winter season teams.
This honor is presented to New York State teams who possess a cumulative GPA of 90 percent or better.
Congratulations to the following teams on this achievement:

Also, after two straight years as National Champions, the Rocky Point varsity cheerleaders finished third at Nationals this year. The team missed first by a 0.7 point difference.
“You couldn’t help but be proud of our squad,” said Amy Agnesini, district
director of health, physical education, athletics and intramurals. “Perhaps the ultimate compliment came when a team from Kentucky approached our squad after the competition and asked to take pictures with them because they ‘wanted to be as good as them one day.’ We have a national reputation and our girls and coaches live up to it every day.”
