Shoreham-Wading River Boys and Girls Lax Take Home State Titles

Great seasons for both teams culminate with State Championships.

The Shoreham-Wading River boys and girls varsity lacrosse teams both capped off fantastic seasons with State Championships over the weekend.

The girls opened Saturday with an 11-9 win over Honeoye Falls-Lima to earn the Class C State Championship at SUNY-Cortland. Jessica Angerman and Paulina Constant set the pace with three goals apiece and Alex Fehmel added two goals and one assist.

The boys followed suit by defeating Penn Yan 10-6 Saturday to win the Class C State Championship at Middletown. Tim Rotanz led the charge once again with five goals and two assists.

It is the third state title and first since 2007 for the boys, and the fifth state championship in six years for the girls.
