Shoreham-Wading River Girls, Boys Lax Win Long Island Titles
Both programs won Class C Long Island Championships and will now head to states.
A banner year for the Shoreham-Wading River Lacrosse program continued over the weekend as both the boys and girls Varsity lacrosse squads earned Class C Long Island Championships.
The boys started off the big weekend with a 9-7 win over Cold Spring Harbor to win the Class C Long Island Championship Saturday at Hofstra's Shuart Stadium. Ryan Bray led the offensive attack with three goals and Tim Rotanz added two.
Tyler Lutjen had 10 saves in net in the win. After earning their fourth LI Championship and first since 2007, the Wildcats will play Section I champion Bronxville in a state semifinal at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hofstra.

After the boys got the win Saturday, the girls followed suit Sunday with a 13-10 win over North Shore at Dowling College Sunday afternoon.
Alex Fehmel and Paulina Constant led SWR with three goals apiece to earn their first LI Championship since 2010. The girls will now head to Cortland for the NYS Class 'C' semifinals on June 9 at 9:30 a.m.
