Shoreham-Wading River Girls Make it Two County Titles for Lax Program

Girls defeat Mt. Sinai 11-7 Thursday to win Suffolk County Class C Championship.

A day after the Shoreham-Wading River Boys lacrosse team earned a county title, the girls team followed suit with a big 11-7 win Thursday over Mt. Sinai to earn the Suffolk County Class C Championship.

Freshman Lauren Daly made 15 saves in net and Alex Fehmel scored three goals to lead the Wildcats, who had won six straight county titles before being moved up to Class B last season. Shannon Rosati added three goals and an assist in the win.

Danielle DellaRocca led Mt. Sinai with three goals in the loss. It was a one-goal game after the first half before Shoreham-Wading River took over in the second with seven goals.

The Wildcats move on to face North Shore in the Class C Long Island Championship at Noon Sunday at Dowling College.
