And somehow Ed Romaine and Jane Bonner helped make that happen? Well at least that's what I'mRead More getting from the photo op. Maybe they did maybe they didn't, but how about your 2 stooges get to the work of the people and cut it out with photo ops that are self-serving face time for name recognition for whatever next election you guy are running for? Here is a grand idea! Next time a major snow storm is forecast for our area, how about you two stick around in case you are needed and not be in Jamaica and Costa Rica!

The donation of $15 will help fund the smiley face. If you donate $30 in exchange for 2 smiley faceRead More T-shirts you will help support the creation of a unique park environment for you, your children and others who love and enjoy our park. Any money remaining will be held within the Heritage Trust America Fund. These funds will be used to pay for other plantings along the Avenue of America, the Court of America, the flag triangle, the "surrounds" around all of the trees planted by donors and volunteers in Heritage Park, around the corn crib and 'Old Mans Farm'. All these are projects of volunteers of the Heritage Trust. Our sweat equity and donations have created beautiful niches within the park. Volunteers wish we could do more and there is more to do. Parks and plants enhance the quality of life for you, your children and hundreds of others who enjoy the park. Volunteers need your support and would appreciate your donation and or community service. Help volunteers enhance Heritage Park's landscape. We all should realize Heritage Park and Heritage Center (aka The Wedge) is only 10 years old. Our plans for future will require money, time, planning and sweat equity. I, for one, am happy to do what I can because the Heritage Park has become a labor of love and a hobby. Sincerely, Fred Drewes

What strikes me in this comparison is that the area with the lowest MDI (~$50k) gives the highestRead More percentage of income (3.6%) and the area with the highest MDI (~$74k) gives the lowest percentage (3.2%). The Total amount given is higher, though. People, seem, in general, to be very giving regardless of this horrible economy; one never knows when his or her role will be reversed when it comes to "charity".

"It’s a rewarding experience for us to give an opportunity for the kids and watch themRead More enjoy the things we have that they don’t have...". I believe that the experience can inspire them; these are "things" they CAN have - can strive towards should they choose to. Whether or not those goals are attained, the impetus towards attainment will serve the children in general.
