Long Island Drowning Prevention Task Force
The Long Island Drowning Prevention Task Force a Chapter of the NDPA(National Drowning Prevention Alliance) was created to help save children's lives. By educating every parent or caregiver about proper water safety guidelines we can and will save a child's life!
Our Water Safety,Water SMART booklets have Message to Parents, Facts, Layers of Protection, a Safety checklist, What to Do, and Where to Find info on swimming lessons,CPR,pool safety equipment, and fencing. Visit our web site www.LIDPTF.org or on Facebook We are also actively pursuing legislation to bring a water safety curriculum to Long Island scholl systems for grades k-2. Coopertive efforts from Safe Kids New York State/Nassau County led by North Shore-LIJ Health Systems along with Steven & Alexandra Cohen Children's Medical Center, Safe Kids Suffolk County led by Stony Brook Children's Hospital, and Saf-T-Swim We have partnered with National Drowning Prevention Alliaince(NDPA), Swim  For Life Foundation (Safer 3), Water Smart Babies, and the Stew Leonards Children Foundation.  The Suffolk & Nassua County library system, Fire Departments, the State Parks and Recreation, Pool Companies, Summer Camps, Swim Schools, and local Pediatricians are  some of our distribution partners.
