A Look Ahead: The 62nd Miller Place-Rocky Point St. Paddy's Parade

A look at what you can expect on March 11 as the parade rolls through Miller Place and Rocky Point.

The Friends of St. Patrick 62nd Annual Miller Place-Rocky Point St. Patrick's Day Parade is just around the corner, and there is plenty to look forward to.

The parade begins at the same place it has since 1950, at the corner of Harrison Avenue and Route 25A in Miller Place on March 11 at 1 p.m. sharp. The parade continues east down 25A and concludes at the reviewing stand by Broadway in downtown Rocky Point.

The Suffolk County Policeman’s Emerald Society Pipe and Drum will lead the Friends of St. Patrick and down 25A to kick off the parade.

Parade viewers will be treated to performances by the Glor Na nGael Pipes and Drum, the Kerry Kearney Band, Colonial Fife and Drum, the Irish rock band Twenty Six and Six and, this year’s newcomers, the Exit 47 Band and the Banjo Rascals.

The Marching Band and National Champion Cheerleaders will bring their talents to represent the local community, and of course, no parade would be complete without the festive, decorated floats provided by scout troops and businesses from the community.
