Event Spotlight: Summer-Long School Supply Drive
Suffolk Legis. Sarah Anker accepting donations in Backpack Pirates program.
Suffolk County Legislators have teamed up with Every Child's Dream in their annual Backpack Pirates program.
Needy kids, ages 6-17, will receive a backpack filled with school supplies at Fire Island in the Back Pack Pirates Summer Fest in August.
A drop off box will be located throughout the summer at Legislator Sarah Anker’s office at 620 Route 25A, Suite B in Mt. Sinai (behind the TD Bank). Boxes are also located at other Legislators' offices across Suffolk County.
Suggested supply donations include notebooks, folders, pencils, crayons, binders, glue sticks and more.
Every Child’s Dream is a non-profit organization aimed at helping economically
disadvantaged children.
