Grab and Go Kids Planner: Dollar Bowling, Reptiles and Legos

Enjoy the last weekend in February around town.

Wind down February--spring's getting closer!--with legos and reptiles at the libraries, then get the kids really active with gymnastics, kungfu and family fun bowling.

1. ERIK'S REPTILE ADVENTURES AT COMSEWOGUE

Where/When: Comsewogue Public Library, 170 Terryville Rd, Port Jefferson Station, Friday, Feb. 25, 1-1:45 p.m.

Why Go: During this program students K-5 will be able to see, touch and learn about the lives of many amazing reptiles, amphibians and arthropods from North America, South America, Africa, Asia, Australia and Madagascar! Lizards, Snakes, Turtles, Tree Frogs, Toads, Salamanders, and an American Alligator named Walley!

2. LEGO MASTERS AT NORTH SHORE LIBRARY

Where/When:The North Shore Public Library, 250 Route 25A, Shoreham,   Friday, Feb. 25, 1 p.m.

Why Go: A Lego Master Builders class for K-5. Create imaginative structures.

Pricing: Free, but registration required. Call 631-929-4488.

3. OPEN GYM AT GOLD MEDAL GYMNASTICS

Where/When: Gold Medal Gymnastics Center, 683 Route 25a, Rocky Point, Saturdays,  9-11 a.m.

Why Go: Gold Medal opens its doors to any gymnast who wishes to workout on any routines they choose.  All children are supervised.

4. MINI DRAGONS KUNGFU

Where/When: , New York 25A, Rocky Point. Weekly on Saturdays, 2–3 p.m.

Why Go: The Mini Dragons class  for 5-7 years olds incorporates self defense, stretching, basic blocks, punches, kicks, reflex drills, and coordination training. This is all structured around learning discipline, focus, concentration and direction following, with the addition of exciting games and excercises to keep a young mind focused. Free trial lessons offered.

5.  DOLLAR SUNDAYS AT PORT JEFF BOWL

Where/When: Port Jeff Bowl, Chereb Lane, Port Jefferson Station, weekly on Sunday, 8 p.m.

Why Go: Bowling fun for one dollar a game.
