Kitchen Fire in Home of RP Fire Chief
Food left on stove causes extensive damage to chief's home on King Road
The Rocky Point Fire Department station on King Road did not have far to go to respond to a call at 2:49 p.m. westward down the block at 24 King Road, where a kitchen fire had gutted the front of the home of Rocky Point Fire Chief Jack Celantano.
Celantano, who was out in front of the brick-faced house with his family and neighbors when Patch arrived, said the fire, caused by food left on the stove, had lasted about 20 minutes.
It appeared no one was injured by the fire.
