Local Eateries Taking Part in Restaurant Week

Residents can eat a three-course prix-fixe dinner for $24.95 at nearly 250 restaurants.

Long Island Restaurant Week is in full swing from Nov. 6 to Nov. 13 and three local restaurants are taking part.

in Miller Place and Alexandro's and Amici's Restaurants in Mt. Sinai will be taking part in the event. Head over to one of these spots and get a three-course prix fixe menu for eight days, all night, except for Saturday when it is only being offered until 7 p.m.

The special menu is available for $24.95 and includes an appetizer, entrée and dessert.

“We have 247 restaurants participating. It’s an increase from past years,” said Tara Berkoski, speaking for organizer WordHampton.

Berkoski said the increase in the number of participating restaurants in part due the economy, as restaurants attempt to draw in new customers.  There are 181 returning restaurants who have participated in a previous Long Island Restaurant Week, and 42 new eateries have signed on to this year’s promotion.

“It’s the most we’ve ever seen returning. Restaurants who have done this in the past have see what a good promotion it is for them,” Berkoski said.
