Long-Time Resident Honored at Rocky Point Civic Meeting

Linda Cathcart receives certificate for years of community contributions.

The Rocky Point Civic Association recently honored Rocky Point resident and civic association member Linda Cathcart for her contributions to the community over the past twenty-plus years.

Councilwoman Jane Bonner presented Ms. Cathcart with a certificate of appreciation and a proclamation from the Town of Brookhaven.

“For over twenty years, Linda has been an invaluable asset to the Rocky Point community,” Bonner said. “Her impact is felt throughout the area, whether she’s cleaning up Hallock Cemetery or planting flowers at Old Depot Memorial Park. I thank Linda for her strong commitment to make Rocky Point a more beautiful place for our residents and visitors.”

She became a permanent resident of Rocky Point in 1982, although her family has lived there since 1950. Cathcart has been a member of the Rocky Point Civic Association for twenty years, serving as Membership Secretary for
