Whiz Kid: Anthony Angeloro Restores NCR Sign

High School senior refurbishes NCR sign for Eagle project.

Name: Anthony Angeloro - 12th Grade

School: Miller Place High School

Whiz Kid's Accomplishment: Angeloro, a Boy Scout, refurbished the North Country Road Middle School sign to earn his Eagle Award. Angeloro said he completely sanded down the sign so that there was no paint or lettering left, then repainted every part of the sign. Once it was fully painted, they applied weatherproof decals to spell out the school name and put each of the schools' main principles on the spines of the book.

Key to Awesomeness: Angeloro has run varsity track since 10th grade and played soccer and lacrosse his freshman and sophomore years. He is a member of Miller Place EMS, is training to become an EMT and was just recruited to be part of the fire department's old-fashioned drill team.  He is planning on attending John Jay College of Criminal Justice in the fall and will be following a program to become a United States Marshal.
