Bel Breeze Realty Moves into its Own Home

Realtor moves across the street into a new home of its own.

Real Estate Agents work day and night to help people and businesses find their home, and Bel Breeze Real Estate in Miller Place was recently able to find itself a place to call home.

Isabel Melo-Kay, owner of Bel Breeze, started real estate back in 1986 and has lived in Miller Place since then. After her and her partner went separate ways, Melo-Kay and the remaining agents became Bel Breeze and have been together since.

"Almost everybody here has been here for that whole period," she said. "We’re almost like a family."

After about 10 years at their old location at 451 Route 25A, Melo-Kay received a call that the building across the street at 428 Route 25A was available.

"I came the very next day with my husband and said we want it," she said. "Then I went back to the office to see when my lease was over and it was unbelievable because my lease was just ending...it was meant to be."

They closed on the building sometime in June, begun renovation work and moved the office almost overnight, moving in July 1.

"It's been fabulous, everybody loves it," Melo-Kay said. "They tell me the office feels very homey."

"We call ourselves the little engine that could," said associate broker JoAnn Klein. "We’re against all the big guys and we do very well for ourselves here.  We’ve achieved our dream of [finding] our own home now and we want to help people achieve theirs."

Their old location is still vacant. Bob Damon, real estate agent for the location, space is J2-zoned for retail and office space, and it is zoned for wet use.
