A truck overturned one July morning in Miller Place, and the Miller Place Fire Department had to use the jaws of life to extricate the driver, who was trapped underneath the steering wheel.

Rescue Dog Statue Added to Rocky Point VFW 9/11 Memorial
The Rocky Point VFW 9/11 Memorial at Diamond in the Pines Park now has a new addition as the Rocky Point Fischer-Hewins VFW Post 6249 and the Town of Brookhaven dedicated a bronze statue of a German Shepard to the memorial Satruday.
Residents woke, many with no power, to see fallen trees and downed wires, damaged property and severe flooding down by Cedar Beach.
