The Miller Place High School JV and varsity volleyball teams raised over $5,400 for breast cancer awareness at this season's Dig Pink event, and one student has earned national recognition by the Side-Out foundation for her efforts.
Varsity team captain Emma Larson was one of 10 student-athletes accross the country to earn a scholarship and one of three to earn a Side-Out/AVCA National Dig Pink Award.
Larson previously wrote a letter of thanks to the community for their support during Dig Pink. The Side-Out Foundation supports clinical trials, increasing compassionate support services and educating communities in order to help the breast cancer community.
