Miller Place Student Earns Scholarship for Dig Pink Fundraising

Varsity team captain Emma Larson earns scholarship for fundraising efforts.

The Miller Place High School JV and varsity volleyball teams raised over $5,400 for breast cancer awareness at this season's Dig Pink event, and one student has earned national recognition by the Side-Out foundation for her efforts.

Varsity team captain Emma Larson was one of 10 student-athletes accross the country to earn a scholarship and one of three to earn a Side-Out/AVCA National Dig Pink Award.

Larson previously wrote a letter of thanks to the community for their support during Dig Pink. The Side-Out Foundation supports clinical trials, increasing compassionate support services and educating communities in order to help the breast cancer community.
