Week in Review: School Budget Process Continues, Multiple Crashes

Jennifer Jorgensen was convicted of second-degree manslaughter Monday and was acquitted of four other charges stemming from a 2008 crash, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Tom Spota's office.

The Sound Beach woman was acquitted of two counts of second-degree manslaughter, one count of operating a motor vehicle while under the combined influence of drugs or alcohol and one count of aggravated vehicular homicide.

A two-car collision on Route 25a and Miller Place road Monday afternoon sent two to the hospital with injuries.

The  said this was the second time in two days they were called to this intersection for car accidents. Along with two injuries, Monday's accident also created a small fuel spill on the road.

Multiple reports of thefts and car vandalism in Miller Place and Sound Beach have been reported to Suffolk County Police in the past few weeks, including a theft from a car, a robbery and more.
