LIPA has been widely criticized over the past two weeks, with locals and politicians skewering the utility company over its performance and communication at the same time praise poured in for the actual crews who worked for so long to restore power.
While the power was out and damage was being cleaned up in Miller Place-Rocky Point, for some people their only links to the recovery efforts were the local elected officials. Some of those public officials were even re-elected right in the middle of the recovery effort.
Thus, we ask: How would you grade the performance of your local elected officials during the storm recovery efforts? What else would you ask them to do for their constituents?
