2 Hospitalized in Wednesday Night Car Crash

Car crash at intersection of Route 25A and Miller Place Road sends one to Mather Hospital, another to Stony Brook University Medical Center.

Two individuals were hospitalized following a two-car crash at the intersection of Route 25A and Miller Place Road on Wednesday night.

Kyle Markott, first assistant chief with the Miller Place Fire Department, called the intersection "one of the busiest for accidents in Suffolk County."

The crash occurred around 8:40 p.m., shutting down Route 25A for about a half hour.

Firefighters used the "jaws of life" taking one of the crash victims from a car, and one was transported to Mather Hospital while another was transported to Stony Brook University Medical Center.

The MPFD responded with two engines, a heavy rescue truck, two ambulances, a fire-police truck, and four chiefs.
