Crime Report: DWI and Unlawful Drug Possession

Charges of DWI and drug possession top this week's arrests in Miller Place-Rocky Point.

Suffolk County Police Department Sixth Precinct reported these incidental arrests in Miller Place, Sound Beach and Rocky Point during Jan. 6—16:

Robert Colefield, 23, of Mt. Sinai was arrested Jan. 13 in Miller Place and charged with first offense DWI. Reports state Colefield was operating a 2006 Dodge when he was arrested.   

William Imhof, 22, of Sound Beach was arrested Jan. 13 in Miller Place and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Kevin Carey, 18, of Miller Place was arrested Jan. 13 in Miller Place and charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs and criminal possession of a controlled substance. Reports state Carey was on Route 25A during his arrest.   

Kevin Fedyszyn, 19, of Ronkonkoma was arrested Jan. 6 in Miller Place and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.

Steven Shaughnessy, 28, of Miller Place was arrested Jan. 6 in Coram and charged with first offense DWI. Reports state Shaughnessy was arrested on County Road 83 when he was operating his 2010 Nissan.    

None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed above. They are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.  If any of the above charges have been acquitted, in order for removal from publication, one must write the writer and provide proof of dismissal.
