Crimes Nearby: Boat Stolen in Flanders

Police reported the following arrests between Oct. 27 and Nov. 6.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County, Southold Town and Riverhead Police Departments. It does not indicate a conviction.

Three Village

Cesar Terrerofiorentino, 21, of Setauket, was arrested Nov. 2 in connection with an incident that occurred in July. Terrerofiorentino allegedly crashed into a parked car and fled the scene of the accident on the afternoon of July 11 at Stop & Shop on Route 25A in Setauket.

Richard Benintendi, 48, of Stony Brook, was arrested Oct. 27 and charged with second degree harassment. Benintendi allegedly punched someone in the face during a work-related argument at a business on Hoffman Lane in Islandia.

Port Jefferson

Ying Tang, 42, of Flushing, Queens, was arrested on Oct. 27 on charges of unauthorized practice of a profession. Tang was allegedly practicing massage without a license at 60 North Country Road in Port Jefferson.

Leroy Douglas, 50, of Port Jefferson, was arrested near 512 Route 112 in Port Jefferson Station on Oct. 31 on charges of 2nd Degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon. Douglas allegedly had a loaded Rohm handgun that was said to be in his right front pocket.

Joseph Wilko, 20, of Port Jefferson Station, was arrested on Nov. 1 on charges of robbery. Wilko allegedly approached another man on Rowe Avenue in Port Jefferson Station with a handgun and demanded money.

North Fork

Jared Martin, 21, of New Suffolk, was charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance on Nov. 3 at 9:52 a.m. after Southold Town Police stopped him on Elijahs Lane in Mattituck for driving a 1989 GMC suburban with a suspended license, police said. Police found a pill that was later identified as a controlled substance and an amount of marijuana in the vehicle, police said. Martin was arrested and processed at police headquarters and later released on bail.

Dorothy Guthrie, 41, of Laurel, was charged with driving while impaired by drugs on Nov. 3 at 5:20 p.m. after police responded to the scene of a car accident in which Guthrie was involved on Bray Avenue in Laurel, police said. After investigation, was found to be impaired by drugs and was arrested and held overnight at police headquarters in Peconic pending arraignment.

Yimi Escamilla, 32, of Riverhead, was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle on Nov. 5 at 8:37 p.m., after Southold Town Police stopped him for a traffic violation on Route 48 in Mattituck, police said. After investigation, police found that Escamilla had a suspended license and also had an active warrant for his arrest, police said. He was arrested and transported to headquarters in Peconic where he was held for the Suffolk County Fugitive Squad.

Riverhead

Jose Arriaza, 35, of Riverhead, was arrested early on Nov. 6 at the corner of Flanders Road and Kirk Avenue in Riverside and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Arriaza was stopped around 2 a.m. for unsafely passing another vehicle and speeding when police discovered he was intoxicated, police said.

A 55-year-old man from Water Mill, told Town Police that sometime between 2 p.m. on Oct. 23 and 9 a.m. on Oct. 27 someone took his Starcraft aluminum boat, another boat and a motor, altogether worth $1,600, from his property on Maple Avenue in Flanders. Police are investigating.
