Romaine Gets Republican Nod for Supervisor

Brookhaven Republicans overlook heavy public criticism of Romaine for blizzard response.

Brookhaven Supervisor Ed Romaine accepted the town Republican nomination for supervisor in this upcoming November's elections. 

"I look forward to not only running, but winning and serving with this ticket, and making sure the taxpayers of Brookhaven Town are protected," Romaine told Newsday. 

Romaine faced heavy criticism earlier this year due to his absence during the February blizzard that dumped up to three foot of snow on the town and left residents stranded in their homes for days. 

Romaine was elected to Brookhaven supervisor in a special election to finish ou the former Democratic supervisor Mark Lesko. 

Former Suffolk County legislator Vivian Viloria-Fisher has been tapped by Brookhaven Democrats against Romaine, a former colleague.
