Sound Off: How Dangerous Is This Home?

Home on edge of cliff near Rocky Point's Friendship Beach a concern for many in the area.

Those on Friendship Beach can look up to see a dangerous site; this condemned home is on the edge of the bluffs and the concern that it can fall down onto the beach is rising.

The house is condemed by the Town of Brookhaven and was abandoned by the bankrupt owner. Bank of America holds the mortgage to the property and reportedly wants to demolish it, but they must find the original owner to sign off on the demolition, which has yet to happen.

Councilwoman Jane Bonner and North Shore Beach Property Owners Association President Des Butler have expressed their concern over the home, as have many locals hoping to frequent the beach this summer.

How much does this home concern you? Do you think it needs to be demolished immediately? Should the beach be closed until it is? Sound off in the comments below.
