Family of Susie Facini to Create Scholarship in Daughter's Name

Peter and Bernadette Facini spoke at Monday's Rocky Point Board of Education meeting to thank the school and community for the love and support they have showed for their daughter Susie,

Peter Facini thanked the district for the Songs for Susie performance on Jan. 6, which raised $1,900 that will be used for a scholarship in Susie's name.

"It was touching, it meant the world for us," Peter said. "From the family we appreciate that. We are continuing to raise money for the scholarship in Susie's name for a student...that best represents the qualities that Susie brought to this community.

"She loved Rocky Point. We're thankful that both our children went through this school and we're proud to give back."

Livelikesusie.org was created, and there is a donation page on the site as well as photos and a place to post memories and stories of Susie.
