New Playgrounds Set for Shoreham-Wading River Schools

Playgrounds will be installed at two Shoreham-Wading River schools.

At its last meeting, the Shoreham-Wading River School Board set forth the installation of new playgrounds at the Miller Avenue School and Wading River Elementary School.

A $49,333 construction bid was awarded to Louis Barbato Landscaping, Inc. According to a report in the Village Beacon Record, the playground at Wading River Elementary has been removed and the one at Miller Avenue School will be taken down next week. Playground installation should begin in August and be completed before the school year.

In an effort to raise funds for a new playground at the Miller Avenue School, the Miller Avenue PTO applied for two $50,000 grants back in 2011 but were unsuccesful.
