PHOTO: North Country Road Middle School Students to Honor Veterans

Eighth grade students from the North Country Road Middle School Family and Consumer Science classes recently honored veterans at the fifth annual Veterans Recognition Dinner.

The event was held at the school and included dinner and dessert prepared by the students who also performed patriotic songs for the guests. In attendance were veterans from the local Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion posts.

“It’s wonderful to see these youngsters honor our veterans with a special night that they worked so hard to organize,” said Councilwoman Jane Bonner. “An event like this shows me that there is no generation gap when it comes to honoring those who have sacrificed so much for the freedoms we enjoy every day.”
