Rocky Point Baseball Team Raises Funds for 'Live Like Susie' Scholarship

The Rocky Point High School varsity baseball team helped raise awareness and funds for a local cause with a personal connection to the school community – the “Live Like Susie” scholarship. The Eagles dedicated their spring game against Mt. Sinai to celebrate the life of Susie Facini, a former Rocky Point student who passed away.

Prior to the game, Laura Jean Goldstein sang the National Anthem and coach Andrew Aschettino delivered a speech about the occasion before inviting Susie’s father to throw out the first pitch. The team also presented Mr. and Mrs. Facini with a ball signed by all of the players and flowers. Throughout the game, players collected donations and sold refreshments to raise money for the scholarship.
