Rocky Point Capital Projects Construction Ongoing

Construction on the new track, turf field and school labs began at the end of June.

After Rocky Point voiced its support and approved a capital projects vote back in November, construction on these projects began at the end of June and are steadily progressing.

Voters in November approved three projects; the replacement of the grass field with synthetic turf, the reconstruction of the existing track and the reconstruction of instructional laboratories.

Along with these projects, final bids were received for the reconstruction of bathrooms in the high school cafeteria. They are expected to be presented to the board of education for approval at Thursday's board meeting.

Updates on the construction have been posted for the past two weeks on the district website and will continue to be posted through the expected completion date of Aug. 31.

This past week, asphalt base of the existing track was removed, excavation continued to prepare for drainage installation for the track and field and science room and skills classroom bathroom demolition was completed.
