Rocky Point Superintendent Invited to Join State Task Force

In recognition of the district’s ongoing efforts to increase community awareness of substance abuse, collaborate with support organizations and thwart off such dangerous behaviors in students, Rocky Point Superintendent of Schools Dr. Michael F. Ring was selected by State Sen. Phil Boyle to participate in one of New York State’s Heroin Task Force forums this April.

During the forum, which centered on three main points – prevention, treatment and criminal penalties for those engaging in such behaviors, Ring represented the region’s educational community and spoke about the topic’s connection to education.

Also present at the event were other state legislators and experts in the fields of law enforcement, treatment, recovery and prevention, civic groups, medicine and pharmaceuticals, parents, and those challenged with personal addiction recovery.
