Rocky Point's Evan Komorowski Named Finalist in National Scholarship Competition

Rocky Point High School senior Evan Komorowski has been named a finalist in the National Merit Scholarship Program.

Evan will now be considered for some of the 8,000 National Merit Scholarships worth approximately $35 million. Evan entered this year’s competition when he was named one of 16,000 semifinalists in September 2013 based on his superior scores on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

An active member of the Rocky Point student body, Evan serves as vice president of the science club, president of the building’s first Robotics Club, president of the National Honor Society and a member of the National Math Honor Society. He was recently cast as the lead in the pocket theater production of “Guest in the House.”
