LADSBS held a competition for fifth graders asking them to participate in an essay writing contest on the importance of donating blood. The competition was optionally, but the winners would have a chance to participate in the Little Doctor program.

This years winners included:Kendall Parker, Annie Boisseau, Gabriel Liquori, Ariel Martin, Sophia Almodovar, Paulina Gasparis, Brodie McGuire, Cory Gardner, Marena Capocci and Jared LoPiano.

Together, with the New York State Blood center, the students and staff were able to collect 32 pints of blood.
