Name: Victoria Verni, age 18
School: Miller Place High School Class of 2014
Accomplishments: Victoria was a member of the Select Chorus and Vocal Jazz Ensembles. She parlayed her vocal and acting talents on stage for many years in her high school drama productions, as well as on stage during the summers with the Mount Sinai Theater Arts Program. She was Augustus in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Lieutenant Brannigan in Guys and Dolls, Gabriella in High School Musical, and Millie in Thoroughly Modern Millie. Victoria continued with performances as Tallulah in Bugsy Malone, Yente in Fiddler on the Roof, Florinda in Into the Woods and Hope in Almost Maine. She also had roles in Sweeney Todd, Godspell, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
On the Honor Roll for every quarter of her high school career, Victoria was the manager of the varsity baseball team. She was also a member of Natural Helpers, a program where selected students are trained to effectively help other students and to contribute to a safe and supportive school environment.
Victoria will be attending SUNY Cortland in the fall, majoring in Early Childhood Education with career goal of becoming an elementary school teacher.
