Panera Bread Begins Collecting Turkeys For Island Harvest

Donations of turkeys and non-perishable food items will be accepted at Panera Bread in Port Jefferson Station now through Dec. 24.

The Panera Bread in Port Jefferson Station, on Nesconset Highway, is once again serving as a designated drop-off site for Island Harvest Food Bank’s annual Turkey & Trimmings Collection Campaign.

The restaurant has already begun collecting turkeys and other times that will be donated to Island Harvest for Thanksgiving.

“Donations of frozen turkeys and non-perishable food items can be dropped off from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. at any Nassau or Suffolk county Panera Bread now through December 24,” says Greg George, Vice President of Operations for Doherty Enterprises, franchisee of the Long Island Panera Bread bakery-cafes in a statement. “These donations will help Island Harvest supply warm, nutritious meals to local families in need throughout the holidays.”

So if you have an item you would like to donate, head over to Panera Bread located on Nesconset Highway in Port Jefferson Station.
