Runner Finishes 9th in Mile Run at Nationwide Track Meet

Tiana Guevara ran a sub-5:00 mile over the weekend.

Tianna Guevara, who helped lead the Miller Place girls' indoor track squad to a small school Suffolk County title this past winter, placed ninth in a national meet over the weekend at The Armory in New York City.

In the process, Guevara, set her own personal record, according to a Newsday, with a 4:56.14 clip in the mile run.

Guevara told Newsday: "I was afraid I was going to come into this race and I wasn't going to be able to handle it because there were a lot of fast girls. But I'm happy that I stuck to the plan I made. I stayed strong, stayed positive, and made it through."
