MPTA Sponsored Fundraiser, Great American Smoke Out This Week

Here's a look at what's happening in Miller Place-Rocky Point this week.

- 11th Annual Long Island Tax Professionals Symposium: A must for all Tax Professionals, over 80 Tax Related Sessions, earn up to 30 CPE Credits. The event begins on Nov. 20 at 7:45 a.m. at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury. For more details and registration go to www.LITPS.org.

- Great American Smoke Out Event: On Nov. 21, from 12:00noon to 3:00p.m. at 200 Belle Terre Road in Port Jefferson, smokers can come and get all the support they need to quit smoking.Non-smokers - hear the latest on the effects of secondand third hand smoke. - Fundraiser for Mary Ercolino, sponsored by MPTA: Mary Ercolino, beloved mother and long time Home Economics teacher for Miller Place School District was diagnosed with ALS on July 26th of 2012. Those of you that knew Mary, know what an incredible and loving mother, grandmother, neighbor and teacher she has been to her family, friends and the Miller Place community. 

*Unfortunately, Mary passed away over the weekend. The MPTA still plans on hosting the fundraiser for the family to help in their time of need.

- Sound Beach Civic Association Lasagna dinner: The Sound Beach Fire House will host a dinner on Nov. 22 at 5 p.m. for $15 (seniors $12). Attendees will get home-cooked lasagna, meatballs, salad, beverages (water, soda, coffee), and dessert. Proceeds will help defray expenses at our Vets Memorial. For more information call 744-6952.
