Brookhaven Supervisor Ed Romaine and Councilwoman Jane Bonner have written a letter urging Suffolk County officials to expand bus service in the Sound Beach community to make mass transit a viable means for residents there to use for commuting to and from their jobs during peak commuting hours.

Spirits Soar for Rocky Point Homecoming

Residents lined the sidewalk in front of Rocky Point High School and filled the stands to cheer on their favorite Eagle sports teams during this year’s homecoming weekend. 

Sporting events took place throughout the celebration, starting with an early varsity girls volleyball game and ending with a varsity boys soccer game under stadium lights.

Early Morning Accident Snarls Traffic in Rocky Point

A car and van collided early Tuesday morning on Rt. 25A in Rocky Point slowing down the morning commute for a little while. 

According to Suffolk County police, the accident occurred at 8:12 a.m. on Rt. 25A and East St. and involved Nissan sedan and a Dodge van. The driver of the Nissan was taken to St. Charles Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
